About the 7-1-7 Alliance
Together, we are accelerating progress toward global health security.
The 7-1-7 Alliance is a country-led initiative to accelerate the achievement of the 7-1-7 target for outbreak detection and control worldwide and strengthen global health security.
The Alliance provides resources, guidance and direct technical assistance for adopting and using 7-1-7. It works to advance operational research and learning and establish strategic partnerships and networks of key stakeholders. It also provides catalytic funding to countries and helps them leverage external financing mechanisms to support the adoption of the target.
The 7-1-7 Alliance hosts a global Community of Practice to foster knowledge exchange and adaptive learning on 7-1-7
The 7-1-7 Alliance is guided by a Technical Steering Group and supported by a Secretariat hosted by Resolve to Save Lives.
Resolve to Save Lives has played an instrumental role in conceptualizing the 7-1-7 target in 2021, piloting the target starting in 2022, and supporting the formation of the 7-1-7 Alliance in 2023.
Technical Steering Group
- inform and approve strategic orientation and program of work
- inform the evaluation and research agenda
- provide advice and guidance on technical issues
- serve as global champions and advocates for the 7-1-7 target and health security systems strengthening
Secretariat
Resolve to Save Lives serves as the secretariat for the 7-1-7 Alliance for an initial 5-year period (2023-2027). Dr. Mohammed Lamorde leads a global, multidisciplinary team covering technical assistance, partnerships, research and learning, and communications and working closely with the Technical Steering Group.
