Why she’s nominated
As a driving force behind the regional expansion of 7-1-7 in Latin America and the Caribbean, Dr. Mancero has demonstrated exceptional leadership in bringing countries together around a shared commitment to faster, more accountable outbreak response. Her efforts to adapt the Early Action Review approach to the regional context and mobilize resources for 7-1-7 implementation across the region have been instrumental in translating the framework from concept to action—ensuring that countries have the support they need to detect, notify, and respond to outbreaks within the 7-1-7 target.
