Ms. Elsie Ilori is a public health expert with over 35 years’ leadership and management experience in IHR and global health security, specifically disease surveillance, detection, prevention, and control in high-burden, resource-limited countries. She is an experienced senior public sector manager at the forefront of strategic development and coordination of national public health surveillance systems, preparedness, and response mechanisms. Ms. Ilori is experienced and an expert in the development and implementation of National Action Plans for Health Security and other IHR Monitoring and Evaluation Framework at the national and subnational levels in Nigeria. She contributed to the digitalization of integrated disease surveillance data in Nigeria and facilitated the deployment of the digital platform, SORMAS, in the country. In 2016, Ms. Ilori was awarded an outstanding Service to Public Health Surveillance in Nigeria. She was a 2018 International Conference for Emerging Infectious Diseases Leader and a Fellow, Executive Program for Global Health Leadership. Her area of expertise includes public health emergency preparedness and response, disease surveillance, epidemiology, emergency operations, One Health, and complex program development, implementation and monitoring and immunization programs. Ms. Ilori is currently a Consultant with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) on the Enable 1.5 Project in Nigeria.
